With support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the Culture, Art and Social Engagement project focuses on transforming community practices, research and action into visual arts and artworks. These enable reflection and research as a context to foster community-based action in selected themes.
The project consists of two components. Under ERDP supervision, teams of researchers and community activists work on the first component. Supervised by AMQF's Culture and Arts Programme, the second component offers financial grants to arts and culture institutions and collectives in the West Bank and Gaza to help them to achieve their visions.
In its first year 2016-2017, the ERDP worked in Jericho, Ni’lin and Qalqiliya. In the 2017-2018 project cycle, the Programme has incorporated Anabta, Qatanna and Khan Yunis to its map of operations in Palestine.
