Home In Qattan News Announcement of the 2015 Young Writer of the Year Award Winners

On 20 February, the AMQF announced at the Ramallah Cultural Palace the winners of the 2015 Young Artist of the Year Award for novel, short story and poetry.  In the field of the novel, Majd Kayyal (Jaffa) won the first award for his Maasat El Sayyed Mattar. For the short story, Mays Dagher Abdul Hadi (Birzeit) won the first award for her collection Mitaf Al Sayeda. In the field of poetry, the first award was shared by Nidhal Faq’awi (Gaza) for his collection Thaheera, and Sarab Al- Qasem (Ramallah) for her collection Qameh Fi Quton.

 

The announcement was followed by the musical performance Mire (directed and designed Amir Nizar Zuabi, and composed by Faraj Suleiman). Four singers and 11 actors participated in the performance. Mire is a reflection of recent conditions the Arab world has seen as a result of wars and conflicts.
