Ziad Khalaf, Director General of the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF), participated in the annual meeting of the Arab Foundations Forum. The meeting was held on the campus of the American University of Beirut on 13 and 14 September 2017. Khalaf made a presentation on the AMQF experience in governance as a case study.
In the meeting, discussants reviewed the evolution of governance in the public and private sectors, highlighting the development of organisational procedures within both sectors. The discussion also addressed the progress towards developing the governance of non-profit organisations and how Arab foundations can benefit from relevant developments.
The meeting also addressed internal issues, including collection, sharing and use of information about the functions delivered by Arab foundations. It also reviewed employment of the Arab youth.
The Arab Foundations Forum aims at growing social responsibility, facilitating the development of Arab foundations, improving contact between foundations and partners, and bolstering strategic philanthropy for investment in human capacity building in the Arab region.
