The Educational Research and Development Program (ERDP)/AMQF concluded on June 21, 2017, a three-day brainstorming workshop on the theme of ‘shadows’. The workshop was held in the Science Studio and attended by researchers and exhibit developers from ERDP.
The event aimed to develop ideas for activating spaces within Qattan’s new building, including the Animation Room, Library and “Model Classroom”, which is intended to provide an integrated scientific and artistic learning path, where visitors regularly stop to learn about a different theme.
Furthermore, the workshop tackled other aspects such as the public’s interaction with exhibits and the stages of exhibit development – from the initial conception onto research, experimentation, evaluation, modeling and, finally, manufacturing.
Participants also discussed the possibilities that science and art can offer within the theme of shadows – things like photography, cinema, philosophy and physics.
This is the second ERDP workshop of its kind, and the Program will continue to work on the same theme during the coming months.
