On Monday morning, 21 August 2017, a delegation of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) visited the A. M. Qattan Foundation (AMQF).

 

The GIZ delegation included Charlotte Borough, Programme Coordinator in the Middle East and South Africa Region, Inken Wiese, GIZ external Consultant, and Safa al-Nasser, Regional Consultant for the Cooperation Programme with Arab Donors.

 

Ziad Khalaf, AMQF Director General, Fida Touma, AMQF Deputy Director, Wasim al-Kurdi, Director of the AMQF Educational Research and Development Programme (ERDP), Nader Dagher, Director of Communication and Public Relations, and Majd Hajjaj, AMQF Resource Development Manager received the GIZ delegation.

 

Khalaft made a brief presentation on the AMQF programmes, partnerships, current and future projects, and areas of operation. Al-Kurdi made a briefing note about the ERDP activities, partnerships and outreach.

 

The GIZ delegation introduced the GIZ operations, network of relations in Palestine and across the Arab world, and implementation and funding mechanisms. The delegation also made an overview of the types and methods of GIZ cooperation with local institutions in Palestine.

 

At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain a discussion of potential cooperation.
