QCC organised a literary encounter with Palestinian writer, storyteller and philosophy and cultural studies professor at Birzeit University, Dr. Sonia Nimer. Children from the House of Literature Club and the English Language Club participated in the event via videoconference.
The meeting gave children the chance to discuss with Nimer and learn from her experience in the field of literature. Discussions revolved mainly around her novel Wonder Travels in Mysterious Lands, which was honour listed by The International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) in 2014. The list included 150 authors, illustrators and translators of children’s and young adult literature from around the around. The book also won first place at the Young Adult Literature category at the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature 2014.
