CAP, in partnership with the Royal Flemish Theatre (Brussels) and Les Ballets C de la B Dance Company, organised the 9th Performing Arts Summer School (PASS 2015), from 3-30 August, in Talitha Kumi School in Beit Jala and The Edward Said National Conservatory of Music in Birzeit.
This year, the summer school aimed to recreate the dance performance ‘Badkeh’ with a new group of dancers. 13 female and male dancers of various backgrounds from across Palestine took part in the training, directed by Koen Augustijnen, Rosalba Torres and Hildegard De Vuyst, and led by Sama Wakim, Mohammad Samahneh, Salma Ataya and Ata Khattab, all participants in the previous edition of the summer school and Badkeh.
Badkeh was performed over 60 times, locally and internationally, including in Belgium, Switzerland, Holland, Britain, Greece, France and Uganda. The performance received unprecedented acclaim from the press and public alike, and is expected to continue to tour internationally in the coming years, with both the new and present cast of dancers.
In conclusion of PASS 2015, three trial shows with the new cast were held in Ramallah, Beit Jala and Birzeit.
