On 9 October, the Palestinian Performing Arts Network (PAN) organised its first joint activity in cooperation with the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Directorate of Education in Tulkarem, and the Palestinian Technical University - Khadouri (PTUK). The full-day arts and culture programme entitled, Art Stations 1, took place in Tulkarem at the PTUK campus.
Activities included workshops on Dabkeh, theatre, circus, and music. These were implemented by the PAN partner organisations, and mainly targeted hundreds of public schools students from Tulkarem and the surrounding area.
A forum was also held entitled, The Importance of the Performing Arts and its Role in the Development of Palestinian Youth. It targeted educators, cultural practitioners, and members of community based institutions in the Tulkarem area. Evening activities which included circus, music and dance performances were open to the general public.
PAN partners are: Yes Theatre (Hebron), Al-Harah Theatre (Beit Jala), The Magnificat Institute (Jerusalem), The Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, Theatre Day Productions (Jerusalem/Gaza), Ashtar for Theatre Productions and Training, Al Kamandjâti Association (Ramallah), the Palestinian Circus School (Birzeit), The Freedom Theatre (Jenin), El–Funoun Palestinian Popular Dance Troupe, and The Popular Art Centre (Al Bireh).
