A number of dance, music and folklore festivals were supported during the period, including the Palestine International Festival 2009 (Ramallah, Bethlehem and Nablus), the Culture and Folklore Festival in Birzeit, the Jerusalem Festival and the 6th Saffa Culture and Arts Festival at the Hanthala Centre in Saffa village. Al-Hara Theatre's participation in the Monastir International University Theatre Festival (Tunisia) was also supported. In Huwwara village near Nablus, a number of literary and theatrical talks were held at the Ateeq Cultural Centre. The highlight of the summer however was the Fourth Performing Arts Summer School organised with Les Ballets C de la B and the Royal Flemish Theatre. Nine participants (from the West Bank and the 1948 areas – Gaza applications could not participate because of the continuing Israeli siege) took part. The school was supervised by Hildegard De Vuyst, Rosalba Torres Guerrero and Koen Augustignen. It culminated with the production of the play In the Park.
