Wasim Kurdi, Director of the Centre and member of the Advisory Board for “Hakaya [Tales]” Programme, participated in the Hakaya regional meeting. Entitled "A Spring Tale: Who Writes History?", the meeting was held in Alexandria from 23-26 April. Hakaya is a creative space open to artists, intellectuals and community activists for contributions on several themes including story weaving and memory as a resource for understanding history, as well as the nature of memory, of how we remember and of how we retain memory and translate it into history. Writers, artists, educators, social activists and journalists from Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen and Mauritania participated in the meeting. Kurdi reported that "the meeting was amazing...experiences were inspiring not only for youth but for all generations".
