On October 21, the Centre concluded the second research seminar on “Utilising Drama in Education – Research Approaches” which was held for two weeks at the Red Crescent Hall in Al-Bireh in partnership with the Welfare Association and under the supervision of the Drama in Education Summer School (DiESS) consultant Professor David Davis. The research seminar covered the application of drama and “Mantle of Expert” (a teaching/learning method) approaches in classrooms. The seminar comprised 29 theoretical and practical training hours for 27 male and female teachers, either students or graduates of the DiESS.
In the wake of the experience of the first research seminar which was held last year and the graduation of two classes of male and female teachers from the DiESS, the Centre established a permanent research seminar in the area of arts and education in order to formulate a research vision of integrated and complementary education that recognises the role of drama and the arts in teaching and learning.
