The Science Studio concluded a workshop on PureData which focused on sound and music and their intersections with different scientific fields.

The workshop was led by Dirar Kalash; a musician, composer and an expert in Sound Studies who writes for different magazines in this field. Kalash also produces contemporary music pieces.

The workshop, which is part of the preparations for the upcoming exhibition by the Science Studio due to open in October 2019, ran for ten days from the 22nd of June until the 2nd of July at the A.M. Qattan Foundation in al-Tireh neighbourhood in Ramallah.

The workshop was attended by the exhibit developers team at the Science Studio, in addition to individuals interested in this field from different backgrounds (Sound Engineering, Anthropology, Mechatronics). At the end of the workshop, participants produced a music piece using PureData and developed new tools for understanding audio and music scientifically.
