As part of a year-long foundation course on Drama in Education, the Centre held a new intensive training day on February 9. The training was conducted by Wasim Kurdi, Director of the Centre, and Malik Rimawi, Director of the Languages and Social Sciences Track at the Centre. The foundation course is equivalent to the first level in the Drama in Education Summer School, which is organised by the Centre annually in the Jordanian city of Jerash. Twenty-three male and female teachers from various regions have participated in the course which involved over 10 training days. The course has addressed central dimensions in the fields of drama in education, process drama, teacher in role (TiR), productive tension, internal coherence, and planning drama in the light of various areas of learning. Two additional training sessions have been held under this course by the international renowned drama expert, Luke Abbott. Topics have included: drama elements, art form components, and the elements of planning.
