On 10 March, the Centre concluded its activities within the ‘Family Literacy’ project at the Yasmeen and Ahibba al-Atfal Kindergartens, in which 40 children, 36 parents and several childcare professionals participated. The activities included ten meetings held over three months during which the parents were introduced to the concept of family literacy and parent’s role in children’s education, development and growth. “This programme has had a very positive impact on my child”, said one of the participating mothers. “He loves participating in all the activities now and we’ve been able to get over some of his constant crying”, she went on. “I’ve learnt important information about my child”, said another, “I’ve seen that my child is gaining confidence in using scissors and pasting paper and that his senses of art and curiosity have improved.”
