On 19 March, the Centre organised a study day for 200 teachers to address the topic: “Meaning Making in Palestinian Schools: an Ethnographic Study”. The study day was prepared by teachers from various public schools under the supervision of Dr. Nadir Wahbeh and was co-funded by UNICEF. The goal of the study is to produce serious research on daily practices in six public schools to understand exactly how teachers, students, administrators, and other stakeholders perform their roles in the light of the new educational reforms. The participants in the study day reiterated the fact that educational reform in Palestine would not be realised unless it relies on actual changes to the positions and roles of teachers, beginning with their salaries and ending with rubrics for laying out their work and development.
