For the fourth year in a row, the Qattan Centre for Research and Education and Development (QCRED) organised its “Drama in Education” summer school in the Jordanian city of Jerash from 17-31 July 2010. Sixty-four teachers from Palestine and the Arab world participated in this year’s school which was supervised by Professor Tag Mcentegart from the United Kingdom, Wasim Al Kurdi from Palestine (director of the second year at the summer school), and Konstantinos Amoiropoulos from Greece (director of the first year). In addition to the theoretical side, the programme included four practical application workshops. Steve Payne from Australia conducted a workshop on “School as a Centre for Social Projects” in which he described the cultural development within society. Malik Rimawi from Palestine conducted another workshop on “Writing as a Creative Context”, Rawi Deeb from Lebanon presented “Reading Pictures from a Movie” where he focused on interpreting pictures from a film he presented. Finally, Demir Arsinjevis from Yugoslavia gave a presentation on using art to bring justice that law may not achieve.
