On 1 July, the Centre’s Outreach Services Unit launched in partnership with the Goethe Institute, the Summer Mobile Library Bus activities, which will continue until September. The bus aims to reach children who live in remote areas of Gaza, and to encourage them to enjoy reading, by offering access to a collection of 1500 library items, in addition to a number of traditional, cultural, and fun games. The bus offers a series of activities in reading, art, and culture, aimed at broadening children’s intellectual and cultural horizons, urging them to enjoy reading and creative stimulation, through thought exercises, traditional Palestinian games, folk storytelling, and narration via different techniques including claymation, animation, and drama, all of which have been hugely popular amongst the participating children.
