On 18 December 2013 the Qattan Centre for the Child (QCC) celebrated World Arabic Language Day. The Centre celebrates this UNESCO approved day in order to develop children’s appreciation and use of the Arabic language, through a number of activities around literature, poetry and calligraphy.
The corridors at the QCC were filled with Arabic books, dictionaries, encyclopedias and calligraphy. Around 200 children of all ages – from kindergarten, primary and secondary schools – participated in the event and expressed pride in their own language.
