On 6 August, Al-Kamandjati Association organised, for the second consecutive year, a concert at the American University of Beirut with support from “Selat: Links Through the Arts”. The event was held as part of Al-Kamandjati’s music education programme in Shatila and Burj Al-Barajneh refugee camps in Lebanon. The concert marked the conclusion of an annual summer camp the Association organises in the village of Maasser El Chouf, where Palestinian musicians meet Al-Kamadjati students from refugee camps for an intensive weeklong music training. All proceeds from the concert went to support the Association’s music education project in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.

Moreover, Selat supported a tour of the monodrama ‘Alaqi Zayyak Fein Ya Ali’ (Where Can I Find Someone like You, Ali?), written and performed by Raeda Taha, and directed by Lina Abyad. The play was performed in The Maarouf Saad Cultural Centre in Sidon on 20 August, in Istanbouli Theatre in Tyre, on 22 August, and The Palestinian Arab Centre in Burj Al-Barajneh camp, on 26 August.
