The A. M. Qattan Foundation welcomes Fida Touma as its new Deputy Director General.
Touma holds a BA degree in Architecture from Birzeit University and an MA in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Massachusetts, USA. She has held several senior positions, starting her career with the Riwaq Centre for Architectural Conservation, where she worked on rehabilitating and renovating historical buuildings across the occupied West Bank. Touma has been particularly involved in management and development, building partnerships, and coordinating regional partnership projects. She became Riwaq’s Co-Director in 2011.
In 2014, Touma joined Taawon (previously Welfare Association), where she directed the Old City of Jerusalem Revitalization Programme and, then became Director of Taawon’s Revitalization and Culture Programme. Over the past two years, Touma’s work with Taawon has focused on programme development, partnership building, planning and management, supporting residents of the Old City of Jerusalem, and preserving buildings of significant historical importance.
Touma is a founding member of the Qalandiya International biennale. She is an active community volunteer on the boards of directors of Dalia Association and Rawa Fund for Community Initiatives.
Touma will take over her new position in early August 2017. She will be based at the Foundation’s main office in Ramallah.
