The Child Centre - Gaza (CCG) carried out a number of technological and scientific activities in the context of the Beit Byout (Playing House) events of Summer 2017.

Children participated in the technological activity, Rubik Challenge. They managed to solve the mechanical 3D puzzle of the Rubik cube.

Having been introduced to smart electronics, a group of children installed and learned how to manage electronic circuits.

Little Bits was a pioneering idea of Aya Brdier, founder and CEO of littleBits, incorporated in 2011. Bdeir shared her idea on TEDx platform. The idea started as a small enterprise in 2008 and, gradually, spread throughout the world. littleBits produces open-source electronics, which are available and used in many educational institutions.

Children also enjoyed participating in the Fab Lab scientific activity, which provided a free space for design and innovation. While they learned the basics of science, this activity furnished an opportunity to test many scientific concepts around children. They could joyfully make use of and apply these basics in their present and future careers in science.

In the Get to Know the Robot activity, children were introduced to Lego Mindstorm EV3 robot kit. Children programmed and added some sensors to robots to make them smarter.

The CCG implemented the Science for Young People activity, targeting children under six years of age and their partners. Together, children and parents discovered the fun of science integrated into arts. In a simple chemical experiment based on the scientific principle of oxidation and reduction, children created a portrait of coloured foam, which turned into brown on white paper
