Najwa Al-Qattan serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The A. M. Qattan Foundation, is emerita professor of Middle Eastern history at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the American University in Beirut, a Master's degree in Philosophy from Georgetown University, and a Ph.D. in History and Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University.
Najwa has received recognition and grants from prestigious organizations such as the Social Science Research Council, Middle Eastern Studies Association, Turkish Studies Association, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Her scholarly contributions encompass articles on various topics, including the Ottoman court, Christians and Jews of the Ottoman state, and the Great Turkish War, which have been published in esteemed journals and books. Additionally, she has actively served on award committees for organizations like the Middle East Studies Association and the Turkish Studies Association. Since 2010, Najwa Al-Qattan has assumed the role of Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Palestinian American Research Centre.
