The Culture and Arts programme in the A.M. Qattan Foundation, in partnership wih the Mahmoud Darwish Musem, organised the launch of the collection "Translation of Bach" for the poet Badr Othman. The collection was presented by the novelist Akram Musallam and read by the poet Fares Saba'nah who read a literary testimony about the collection written by Dr. Abdul Rahim Al-Sheikh. The poetry collection received a recommendation for publication by the judge's committee of the Young Writer Contest for the year 2017, which is organised by the Culture and Arts programme of the A.M. Qattan Foundation since 2000. The competition provides a first prize in the fields of novel, poetry, and short story, in addition to the publication of winning literary works and the works recommended for publication by the judge's committee.
Badr Othman was born in Jerusalem in 1992, and lives in the city of Ramallah. He works as a writer and coordinator for the publication's of the Department of Resource Promotion in Birzeit University. He hold a BA in English Literature from Birzeit University in 2014, where he is currently completing his Masters Degree in Contemporary Arab Studies.
