Urban Agriculture

Home Scientific Programmes Urban Agriculture

The Urban Agriculture Programme provides a pilot experimental space for children to enhance their awareness of the importance of urban agriculture and to motivate them to adopt positive attitudes towards the environment.

The children explore the urban farm at the Centre, which includes models of modern aquatic agriculture, such as aquaponics, hydroponics and hanging agriculture. The main components of each farming system are learned along with techniques on how to harvest fruits and vegetables, such as lettuce, cabbage, tomato, eggplant and strawberries.
